Ballet classes at Kspace are designed to capture the children’s imagination by encouraging expression and creative play. With a focus on fun, these classes offer a structured environment where the children are free to explore movement and music all while learning about the art and discipline of dance. This is a wonderful age for children to develop a love for ballet while building strength, finding balance, and improving their spatial awareness.
Come and Join In!
Classroom work and practice are an important part of dance, and so is presentation. Our teacher Katie looks forward to inviting eager parents into the classroom from time to time to observe progress. The children love an opportunity to perform in front of an audience and you will enjoy their mini-performances!
Teacher’s Profile
Our teacher, Katie, has been dancing since the age of three - when her mother placed her in a music and movement class to ‘channel her energies’. Over the years, she fell in love with ballet: eventually leaving home at the age of twelve to pursue professional ballet training at 'The Royal Winnipeg Ballet School,' followed by 'Les Grands Ballets Canadiens' in Montreal. Katie suffered a severe knee injury at the age of 16, which effectively ended her dream of becoming a professional ballerina. However, her love for, and involvement in dance did not end there. A few years later, she moved to Shanghai、China, where she opened a ballet school, teaching children 2-12 years old.
Katie was an instant star at Kspace and has already built up a firm following of fans and protégés. She looks forward to meeting you and sharing her passion for dance with you child.

Aspace Pre-Ballet & Creative Movement
Our youngest ballerina's burn some of that excess energy by jumping about and practicing their pirouettes. This level allows for plenty of free movement to all tempos of music.
