Drumming has been a very popular class at Kspace for over eight years!
Children love music and have strong natural ability to play it. It allows them a way to communicate their excitement, happiness and feelings even before they can talk. As they grow, learning rhythm helps them develop an ear for languages and intonation within speech, and basic percussion fun can provide an excellent foundation for learning musical instruments in the future. Working on the drum builds strength and flexibility, developing a range of muscles all through the hands, arms and upper body too!
In our experience, children who learn to play music also often get a head start with phonics and mathematics, and overall being ‘musical’ is a wonderful gift later in life! As well as learning the basics of how to drum, the course includes a wide variety of music to encourage tempo, beat and rhythm recognition in children.
Children work in small groups of about 4, giving them a great opportunity to excel from such specialized hands on lessons.
One to one tuition can be given also be arranged.
