Jolly Phonics
Ideal for children aged 18 months to 5 years old

Our main goal is to get the children very excited about reading and writing, and leave the students with a positive image of reading that will last a lifetime!

Why ‘Jolly Phonics’?

Jolly Phonics is an amazing teaching programme that we have used throughout our school, for many years, with simply the most superb results. There are many reasons that we have chosen it, but mainly because it offers children of all learning styles great flexibility and an interactive, memorable, logical and fun approach. The programme uses beautifully eye-catching visuals and our lively learners love the cheeky puppets (Sammy, Inky, Bee and Kokomo), who help us tell stories about the letters and sounds. All phonics have little actions too and it is wonderful to see the children absorbing the lessons, and remembering the corresponding actions, even months after they were initially taught!

Parents can purchase tools and materials from us or online, including DVDs, to support their child’s learning, and it is a great system of teaching that allows mums and dads to join in too! Our teachers have participated in the Jolly Phonics Trainers Programmes and we also have qualified Trainers at our school. In 2007 we flew Jolly Phonics all the way to Japan, just to teach us! We are amongst the only team of its nature in Asia presently.

Many of our older children in the classes are often already learning to read and write at school/home. It is wise to try as many avenues as possible and parents often come to us asking for the special 'Kspace blend' of fun and inspirational support!

Our way of teaching phonics is entirely different to mainstream schools and we tackle it with a multi-sensory approach. Every lesson incorporates music, dance, games, crafts, and more! Our continuity is wonderful…The Jolly Phonics educational support materials are visually appealing, bright and humorous, and our teachers are mesmerizing!!

This class is also useful for bi/trilingual children who would benefit from class immersion in an English language programme.

Advanced Phonics?

If your child is just a little older, or is a very competent reader, you may want to consider our Advanced Phonics class. Children for all phonics classes are placed in appropriate group by the teacher, following a light and fun assessment.
