Back by demand – one of our most popular classes ever!
Children of all ages, backgrounds and abilities LOVE this programme! Whether your child is a little bit shy/quiet, a non-native English speaker, highly gregarious or simply silent – this course works!
Aims & Content
Our main goal is to build a sense of ‘self’ and to instill an incredible amount of confidence in your child. The children enjoy a wide range of fun tasks designed to get even the quietest church mouse to eventually ‘squeak-up’! Through role-play situations, question and answer sessions and other games that involve the children speaking out loud, our focus is to get them used to possible “pressure” situations. Guest teachers join the Key Teacher occasionally which gives the children an opportunity to talk with someone that they aren’t so familiar with, building on those vital skills.
The course also draws from multi-media areas too, with children interviewing each other and recording each other’s answers on film with their very own video equipment. They also get the chance to talk to each other via the internet - skyping each other from different parts of the building. Younger children enjoy less sophisticated tasks and can copy via role-play.
Benefits
Children desperately want to communicate and they can often get frustrated when the words and will to speak just won’t come. We offer some tools to smooth the path and show them that they can be heard. For older children, school interviews and other life situations are coming their way and they need to be as prepared as possible. Speak Out Loud is a class that can help children to speak clearly, use a variety of phrases and words, and practice their skills/English in front of others.
With so many children holding English as a second language in this ever-increasingly international world, it helps to have an advantage.
Very young students love watching their older peers and they are enthused to try out their newly discovered words and expressions. Our older children enjoy mentoring, setting up role-plays and the many ‘grown up’ situations that they are placed in.
Classes are kept small and cozy, making sure that they get the individual attention they need. If you are interested in signing up for the class, please contact us for further information.
