Charity and Community at Kspace
In June 2007, after a brainstorming session focused on our community, Cspace was created.
Cspace is a school-wide effort to bring children, parents and staff together to support projects that will improve the lives of others who are less fortunate and that will make our community a better place. Cspace is made up of all our Team, parents and children, and relies on the wonderful energy of our enthusiastic Kspace mums and dads.
We are all working to educate our children to become good world citizens, caring about their community and the world they live in. Kspace is a special grouping of families representing many countries and cultures, and together we have the potential to be a strong force within our local community and beyond to affect positive change.
Why ‘Cspace’?
“C” stands for:
Children – our children should be involved, aware and caring
Community – our families are part of a wider local and global community
Charity – we will contribute towards the well-being of those less fortunate
Citizen – our children will learn what it means to be good global citizens
Our Achievements
The Cspace Goal for 2007/2008 School Year was to work with ‘Room to Read’, a non-profit organization, to raise US$25,000 to build a pre-school in Sri Lanka! Did we achieve our Goal? YOU BET!! Via our yen Coin drive, gala dinner at the Ritz and many events, we not only provided funds to build one school, but TWO, as well as the publication of thousands of local language books for the children.

Last term we turned our attention to the local community and focused on eco-awareness and also smaller charities.
CURRENT PROJECTS
As well as working hard to raise eco-awareness, Cspace is focusing on fundraising for ARK Animal Rescue. A fabulous concern, run by a very dedicated group of hard workers, ARK really needs all the support it can get. We are now sponsoring our very own Kspace doggie.
